For chef Ford Fry’s first Tennessee outpost of this Atlanta Tex-Mex favorite, we augmented the franchise’s roadside cantina feel with a mix of materials chosen to highlight their natural splendor. Table tops in a custom taupe-grey stain set on blackened steel bases line the space inside and out, flanked with outdoor banquettes in iroko and more steel. Inside we went bold, using thermo ash to create a natural, charcoal-like color on table tops. (The wood even smells a little smoky too; a neat bonus.) A custom powder-coated steel ping pong table and bevy of fajita serving boards in raw edged wood complete the eclectic vibe.
